रेल मार्ग से: निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन जोगिंदरनगर और चंडीगढ़ हैं।

मार्च से जून का समय गर्मियों में हिल स्टेशन की ठंडी हवाओं का आनंद लेने के लिए उत्तम है। वहीं दिसंबर से फरवरी का समय बर्फबारी देखने और स्नो एक्टिविटीज़ के लिए सबसे अच्छा माना जाता है।

स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार बूढ़ी नागिन माता इस झील की रक्षक हैं। मान्यता है कि झील में कभी पत्ते तक नहीं गिरते क्योंकि पक्षी और हवा स्वयं झील को साफ रखते हैं। यह झील शुद्धता और दिव्यता का प्रतीक मानी जाती है। झील के पास स्थित बूढ़ी नागिन मंदिर में श्रद्धालु स्वास्थ्य, सुख और समृद्धि की कामना करते हैं।

सेरोलसर झील घूमने का सबसे अच्छा समय अप्रैल से अक्टूबर तक का होता है। इस दौरान मौसम सुहावना रहता है और ट्रेकिंग के लिए रास्ते खुले रहते हैं।सर्दियों में यहाँ भारी बर्फबारी (Snowfall) होती है, जिससे जालौरी पास बंद हो जाता है। गर्मियों और मानसून के शुरुआती दिनों में यहाँ के घास के मैदान फूलों से भर जाते हैं, जो इस जगह को और भी खूबसूरत बना देते हैं।
